Trina Stands Up For Sexyy Red And Sukihana Following Content Critiques

Sexyy Red and Sukihana have been the subjects of vitriol over the last few months due to the explicit content within their music and their overall sexual nature. Trina spoke up on the rappers’ behalf and encouraged people to allow them to express themselves freely.

The Miami rapper attended One Musicfest in Atlanta at the end of October and defended the “Hood Rats” duo during an interview. “They gotta grow, they’re gonna grow up into women, you know?” she said. “I mean, they’re young girls, they’re young women, but it’s still, this is a freedom of speech. Like we’re not locked up, we’re not chained down, say what you want to say, make music of what you feel like. This is their experience, their struggle, their raunchiness, their whatever they feel, wherever they came up with, their struggle, their circumstance.”

The “Here We Go” rapper continued her statement, clarifying that she doesn’t know what life was like for them before they became known rappers but what they are doing is working for them. “I don’t know where they’re born or their hometown,” she said. “I don’t know, you know, what life was to them, if it was a hardship or they had days where they didn’t eat on the weekend, who knows? But now they are and that’s all that matters. They do what they got to do.”

Trina closed off her brief rant with a simple yet powerful message: “If you don’t like it, guess what? Don’t listen. That’s why we have ears.” Check out her comments above.

Sexyy Red and Sukihana were recently on the bad end of a rant by another rap veteran Khia. The “My Neck, My Back” artist wasn’t fond of people comparing the two to her and distinguished herself from them in a lengthy discussion.

“I’m ’bout tired of y’all comparing me to these h*es,” she said. “I said, ‘My neck, my back, my pu**y, and my crack.’ Not these ni**as out here, these h*es out here. I still stood 10 toes down like a motherf**king queen. Hair still wrapped like the first day.”

Popular Instagram page TheNeighborhoodTalk posted Khia’s diatribe, which led to the “SkeeYee” artist dropping her thoughts in the comments. “Just another ol washed up [hag] hating ona yung turnt rich [bi**h],” she wrote. “Hatin on bad [bi**hes] den & you still ah mad hater,” Red wrote in another comment.

Sukihana took things differently and even threatened fisticuffs against the 46-year-old rapper. “I will knock Khia [the f**k] out,” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Oct. 27.

In another tweet the day before (Oct. 26), she bragged about being too booked and busy to hate on someone else. “SUKIHANA is SUKIHANA a has been is a has been,” she said. “I’m booked every weekend until next September of NEXT YEAR. I get it I’m ratchet but I live in my truth. Atlease I don’t sit in front of a library mad at Trina everyday with 172 teeth in my mouth.” Check out the tweets below.
